The Mentawai Islands and Nomad have really delivered some classic surf through the month of May.

The Sandon point boys got no test run or warm ups dress rehearsal as I threw them into some of the heaviest waves the Mentawai Islands have on offer.

Big tubes, wipe outs and plenty of reef rash’s are a true sign of a pumping swell and there was no shortage of all of the above. The boys had a really good crack and definitely reaped the rewards of their efforts, if only I had a dollar for every time i heard best barrel of my life.

As the swell eased back we could get out of survival mode and got to have a heap of fun on some really nice user friendly smaller waves that gave the the boys a chance to get on there shorties and lay down some turns.

Great trip, great guys!!

Im praying for more of the same right now.
