Our July trip on Nomad had 7 mates from the Central Coast and Mark from RLZ. Mark being quite a bit older than the gromets, was charged with looking after the rowdy Cental Coast crew but it was clear from the outset (and a few warm up days in town) that these guys were here for a good time and poor Mark would have his hands full. A good looking swell report and light winds on paper got the froth levels high before even setting sail.
We started off with an easy start to wash the hangover off at some playful Lance”s Left and day two was magic- epic pumping barrels with a handfull of mates only.
The happy hour fishing trips in Bomerang where hugely popular this trip and plenty of luck on the hunt although some were dropped close to the boat earning the pink helmet “kook of the day” award.
4 days in the sourthern Mentawai area and HEAPS of fish later, it was time for a seafood beach BBQ, beers, fireworks, the lot. An awesome experience in these parts when the weather is right.
The good luck on the lines continued all trip and plenty of epic waves as we made our way north again into the second half of our trip.
Good company on board the nomad and a great trip to be on.
